We are not quite sure when “Tractor” was born, but when we saw him on display with all his brothers and sisters we just knew he was the one for us.
Tractor is a Honda Pioneer four wheel drive UTV (an acronym for Utility Task Vehicle), often referred to as a Side-by-Side. It is just easier to call him Tractor.
When we first brought Tractor home, we thought we had the perfect low-impact, low ground compression vehicle. We envisioned riding around in our forest, cutting a little firewood and loading it into his dump box. But Tractor had a hitch, so maybe he could pull a wagon? So we borrowed a wagon and loaded a few logs. Tractor said “That’s it? I can handle more.” Soon we were making trails and overloading the wagon and still not a peep. It was a lot of work and was wearing us out. We decided Tractor need a few friends to hang out with. This is when “Handy” and “Snippy” were born. These wonderful siblings love hanging out together in the Forest. (See Future Blogs).
When Tractor is not working in the forest, you can find him hanging out with Mickey and Minnie. Tractor also loves visitors. He pops up his extra seats, and with them he can comfortably seat four adults. With two dogs chasing, he will tour guests around on the forest trails that he helped to create.
Originally, Tractor only had to work hard part of the year and then take the snowy winters off. But now, with the addition of his new winter boots (tracks), he can be found motoring through the forest all months of the year. He just loves climbing over the snowbanks and the frozen duck ponds. Our Tractor is truly unstoppable now.
Tractor is a resourceful and valuable member of the Ella’s Forest team and we are proud to have him help look after our Organic Wild Blueberries. Thank you Tractor!
